Mesothelioma
At first I was really confused about asbestos mesothelioma and its relation to cancer. People in industrial jobs are most at risk for asbestos exposure due to the possibility of contact with products containing asbestos, but asbestos fibers can also be transferred home from people in asbestos-related jobs on their clothing, tools, skin and hair. This can lead to second-hand asbestos exposure for families and friends, putting them at risk for developing mesothelioma, asbestosis, lung cancer and other asbestos-related diseases.
Mesothelioma is an aggressive cancer but can be managed with chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery. Currently, there is no known cure for asbestos cancer but several mesothelioma treatment regimens have proven to be successful in helping the mesothelioma patient avoid pain and discomfort caused by the disease.
